Position Summary:

The Sr. Human Resources Generalist will work at both a strategic and operational level to provide unbiased and impactful guidance on all Human Resources' and Employee Relations' matters. This position will counsel leadership on the interpretation and consistent application of policies, providing support and guidance on performance management, conflict resolution, employee coaching and complaint management. Partnering with the legal department and leadership, the Sr. Generalist will conduct workplace investigations, and manage resolution of specific disciplinary or grievance cases. This position is a full-time employment opportunity reporting to the Director, Human Resources Shared Services.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Represents employee relations/policy matters at the senior levels of the Company.

  • Proactively responds to supervisor and employee inquiries, HR tickets, hotline calls, and formal complaints and ensures timely resolution. Develops & promotes technology solutions and workplace trainings for supervisors and employees to mitigate unnecessary HR tickets.

  • Collaborates with Human Resources Business Partners, employees and managers to address root causes of HR issues, and aims to resolve issues at the earliest level.

  • Conducts investigations of internal complaints highly sensitive in nature, including allegations of wrongdoing, violations of policy/ethics, and violations of Title IX and/or Title IV. May conduct more than one investigation at a time.

  • Through partnership with other HR functional teams (benefits, compensation, L&D, etc.) and Legal, assists in the preparation and/or conducts training modules for sexual harassment, workplace threats, legislative awareness, ADA, and disciplinary actions. Consults with Disability Management, Legal and leadership on FMLA/ADA and Return to Work issues.

  • Regularly monitors exit interview and attrition data to provide insight to leadership on any identified trends or issues within their department; recommends & develops management training curriculum based on identified areas of need.

  • Provides guidance and support on Company-wide programs and initiatives (eg. Workforce Planning, Organizational Changes, Reductions in Force) to promote and coordinate HR responsibilities.

  • Partners with Security and leadership to provide training on any workplace violence or business continuity concerns.

  • Assess, design, and help build an HR Shared Services model to include ticketing within ServicePoint (ServiceNow) and/or Workday.

Additional Job Duties (include but are not limited to):

  • Works on high-level Human Resources & Employee Relations initiatives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge and mastery of employee relations practices and programs, as well as federal and state employment laws.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior HR Generalist role, providing service to business leaders and employees on a variety of HR maters.

  • Proven experience in conducting workplace investigations; able to manage complex cases in parallel.

  • Proven ability in establishing excellent rapport with all Professional and Executive levels.

  • Excellent verbal and written skills.

  • Highly developed skills associated with conflict resolution.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle extremely difficult or volatile situations/individuals effectively with positive outcomes.

  • Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).

  • Ability to be able to flex outside of normal business hours as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PHR certification a plus

  • AWI certification a plus


  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent human resources experience required
